Nida Stream Colony was a KUNO workshop that explored performance art, streaming and the overlaps of these two fields.
It was led by organized by Vygintas Orlovas and involved two more teachers: a full-time streamer and twitch partner Stephanie (AKA Apollolol on twitch.tv) and curator, performance artists and researcher Daina Pupkevičiūtė.
The workshop took place at Nida Art Colony from the 30th of January to the 3rd of February 2023. 9 students from Vilnius Academy of Arts participated in the workshop and they were joined by 6 students from the KUNO network and streamer K1XE.
On the 30th the workshop was focused on an introduction and a discussion regarding performance art led by Daina Pupkevičiūtė. On the 31st the participants covered the nuances of streaming thanks to Stephanie, the technical details regarding hardware (phones, laptops, different types of microphones and cameras, lighting, green screens) and software (OBS, voicemeeter, vdo.ninja) for streaming were presented by Vygintas Orlovas. After learning all of this students were introduced to mind-mapping techniques and started developing their ideas for performances that could be streamed.
The 1st of February was focused on developing the mind maps and ideas further.
On the 2nd of February, the participants came with performances that they have streamed on twitch.tv:
